Seller Story

Mel Miller and family are dispersing they remainder of their cow herd due to the continued drought in Southwest Nebraska. The Miller's have been developing their cow program for the better part of 20 years developing a cow that can maintain condition, breed back every year and thrive on minimal inputs in the extremes of Southwest Nebraska. The Miller's along with Pharo Cattle Co. are focused on producing cows that work for the environment, low maintenance - low input cows. While everyone else is focused on increasing pounds per cow (bragging rights), Pharo Cattle Company has always been focused on increasing pounds per acre (profit). Most cow-calf producers struggle to make a decent living because they are focused on the wrong thing. It is much more profitable to produce cows that fit your environment than it is to artificially change your environment with expensive inputs to fit your cows. A cow should support the ranch – instead of being supported by the ranch!
