Seller Story

Hidden Prairie Ranch strives to develop low input cows that can take care of
themselves. As first calvers, the 4-year-olds in this group calved in a 2200 acre river
break pasture with no assistance. These cows receive little to no attention. Any cows that come home dry in the fall are culled. To date, they have received only 3 weeks of fed hay, they do not look for a handout and prefer to be out grazing. Due to the dry conditions, we have decided to disperse the fall herd. We have already weighed up over half of them and we kept these only because we felt they were the best of the best. The cows have been handled mostly horseback and are accustomed to dogs. If you’re looking for a set of cows that has been ruthlessly culled and asked to survive on their own, these are the ones.
