Seller Story

D Bar J Cattle are offering a powerful string of Fall Bred Heifers out of Missouri for our Pharo Cattle Influence Sale. Phenomenal genetics that have generation after generation of Fescue tolerance developed to create efficient, adaptable mothers. Over this time D Bar J has focused on improving hair coat for 17 years on this line up of cattle. This is a great opportunity on being able to own females from a closed herd. Johnson’s are consistently building genetics and phenotype that is decided by their environment and then an intense culling process. So they typically retain all females for their herd. A unique opportunity to integrate 21 Fall bred heifers that are broke into small groups based off sire group. 10 Breds are registered with the Angus Association, and 11 breds are Commercial females that will be able to fit in the Pharo Program. All commercial females are bred to Hondo(F1 Mashona Bull(Moderate frame, low birthweight, Heat tolerant). Registered Heifers are bred to Fletcher(El Dorado Son) and Galleon(Pledge Son). Heifers are sired out of top industry sires in the Pharo Cattle Program such as Eastbound, Double Your Profit, Daily Double, and EZ Calvin’ . 065, 072, and 096 are all bred in the first period. All other females are bred on the second period, and were confirmed by a vet on May 18th. The docility on these animals is critical. Calm, gentle cattle are a top priority in D Bar J’s operation. The most vital part that keeps a breeder in business, Fertility. Year in and year out, with minimal inputs the cattle breed back and breed back quickly. Majority within the first 3 weeks of the breeding season. If you have any more question or would like to view the cattle in person. Please reach out to Drew, Jon, or David by call or text. Thanks The Pharo Cattle Philosophy is focused on producing cows that work for the environment, low maintenance - low input cows. While everyone else is focused on increasing pounds per cow (bragging rights), Pharo Cattle Company has always been focused on increasing pounds per acre (profit). Most cow-calf producers struggle to make a decent living because they are focused on the wrong thing. It is much more profitable to produce cows that fit your environment than it is to artificially change your environment with expensive inputs to fit your cows. A cow should support the ranch – instead of being supported by the ranch!
