The Seller's Story

My family, parents and 2 sisters moved to this farm in early 1960 when I was 5 years old. As was typical of those times, Dad milked a few cows and sold the cream, a flock of chickens provided eggs for sale, and some hogs. The focus of the farm was feed and hay for the livestock. The farm started to change in 1967 when the first irrigation well was dug with the focus starting to change to crop production. I was an eighth grader, so I learned to carry pipe, set gates and irrigate. Our first center pivot arrived in 1980. Today the operation has 15 pivots running off of 11 deep wells. After high school, I spent 4 years in college and two years in the Army Medical Corps. I married Colleen in November 1979 and started farming full time in 1980. We were blessed with two children and two grandchildren that are pursuing other interests off farm. We look forward to seeing more of them and traveling in the future. The last 42 years have brought joys and sorrows, storms and great crops, we have been blessed. We have found ambitious young brothers to rent our farms so it is time to retire fully and sell our line of farm machinery. Several pieces I purchased new including the CIH125 tractor and loader, 120 tractor, 4406 corn head, 3020 flex head, planter, windrower and JD small square baler. Many other pieces are second owner including the 5140 Combine, 230 and 190 MFWD tractors, and International Truck Tractor. I try to keep my equipment clean and repaired. The major pieces are always stored inside.
