Seller Story

High Plains Cattle Co. of Perryton, TX has been developing low input efficient cattle since the 2000's. Following the guidance and principles of Gerald Fry and Kit Pharo the plan was developed for an efficient moderate framed Red Angus herd of Cattle. Some of the early genetics utilized were PawPaw and PCC KayCee Hobo. High Plains Cattle Co. has been focused on producing cows that work for the environment, low maintenance - low input cows. While everyone else is focused on increasing pounds per cow (bragging rights), Pharo Cattle Company has always been focused on increasing pounds per acre (profit). Most cow-calf producers struggle to make a decent living because they are focused on the wrong thing. It is much more profitable to produce cows that fit your environment than it is to artificially change your environment with expensive inputs to fit your cows. A cow should support the ranch – instead of being supported by the ranch!
