Still Raising A Calf Every Year And Calves On A Regular Calving Interval. Many Greats In Her Pedigree Including Michifuku, Big Al, Red Emperor, Toshiro, Haruki 2, Kalanga Red Star. All Of These Greats Are Known For Marbling Ability But A Look At 302’s EDPs Will Show A Balance Of Growth, Milk And Carcass Traits. Her Sire Ranks In The Top 15% For Weaning And Yearling Weights. Just Look At The Width Of Top, Spring Of Rib And Depth Of Body Of This Heifer All In A 100% Wagyu Female. She’s Also A Half Sibling To The 212J First Calf Heifer Pair In This Auction. We have been breeding Wagyu cattle for 7 years now and have come to the point where we are able to offer registered fullblood Wagyu that were developed and tested in our program. We ground truth our genetic selections by finishing out steers and heifers to see their carcass merits. Before the carcass evaluations, we monitor growth, development and maternal traits. We started building our fullblood Wagyu slowly from known genetics that have been proven to contribute to carcass merit and have built upon those genetics for increased growth and maternal traits to the goal that we have which is functional Wagyu cattle. Wagyu are known for their ability to marble and grade but they are also known for slower growth and low milking females. We focus our genetic selections to balance or compliment the ability of Wagyu to provide the consumer with the high end product while not forgetting the need for the commercial cattlemen to have functional females and calves that will grow. We don’t ignore the phenotype of our cattle and this offering reflects that. Just look at the depth of body, spring of rib and width of top that our females offer which is unlike what you may have seen before or think of when you picture Fullblood Wagyu.
