Seller Story
After almost 19 years of raising Purebred/Registered Angus cattle, I have made the difficult decision to sell my small herd. I have taken a career opportunity that takes me further away from home and I just don’t have the capacity to invest in these females as much as I would expect to get out of them. Over those nearly 20 years I have continually focused/refined my herd to focus on maternal traits. For a female to stay in my herd, she needed to be docile and wean a quality calf on minimal inputs. The last two years I have been forced to dry-lot some of my pairs and this confirmed I was breeding my cattle right. My cattle were primarily on free choice brome hay with VitaFerm Concept Aid and Heat mineral and small amounts of grain for 9 months out of the year and on corn stalks with Purina Wind and Rain the remaining 3 months. Not only did I wean an average 590 pound calf with no creep, but I also got my females to breed back as noted by a AI rate on Fixed-Time synchronization of 65-80% each of the past few years. All females have been poured and vaccinated with Virashield 6 and received a scour shot. These ladies will produce phenotypically sound calves that will grow well on minimal inputs, putting more profit in your operation whether you decide to sell the calves or retain the heifers in your herd for years to come! I appreciate your interest in my cattle! Selling as commercial cattle – registration may be completed/transferred at buyer’s expense on all cattle except 4712 and 5712.Disclaimer
