Seller Story
The Merz Ranch is tucked away in the heart of the Sandhills north of Seneca, Nebraska. Tracy is 4th generation and has developed a intense AI program incorporating some powerful Angus genetics. For the past 20+ years they have partnered with Jorgensen Land & Cattle the largest seedstock supplier in the US as a bull cooperator developing 150+ bulls for their annual bull lease program. With the JLC philosophy the Merz ranch has a sincere focus on balanced maternal and terminal traits to produce females that thrive in a low-input, low-maintenance environment. The females must be highly fertile and breed back in the 2nd calving season with longevity to produce 8-10 calf crops in their lifetime. Disposition, phenotype and practical functionality are considered in the culling process. Tracy has been actively involved in the development of the JLC internal AgBoost EPD system and genomic testing to provide more accurate data on each individual calf crop.
