Mike knows farm real estate, production agriculture, farm programs, ag finance, lenders, landowners, and farm operators all across Kansas.

Mike worked for 38 years at the U.S. Department of Agriculture – Kansas Farm Service Agency (FSA). He served as the FSA Northwest Kansas District Director headquartered out of Goodland. Mike received FSA’s highest award, “The Administrator’s Award for Service to Agriculture.” He supervised the delivery of hundreds of millions of dollars in federal farm program benefits and farm ownership and operating loans to Kansas farmers and ranchers.

He also worked as an ag lender with farm credit before joining BigIron Realty in October 2016.

At FSA, Mike’s district included: Cheyenne, Rawlins, Decatur, Norton, Sherman, Thomas, Sheridan, Graham, Rooks, Wallace, Logan, Gove, Trego, Ellis, Russell, Greeley, Wichita, Lane, and Ness counties. At farm credit, he served farmers in Ellsworth, Reno, Stafford, McPherson, Rice, and Harvey.

Mike serves on the Hutchinson/Reno County Chamber of Commerce Ag Committee. He volunteers at the Kansas Jr. Livestock Show and other Kansas agricultural events at the Kansas State Fairgrounds.

Mike and his wife of 48 years have four children and seven grandchildren.
